Chicago Attorney John M. Green Receives Prestigious Trial Lawyers Award

(Chicago) – John M. Green, founder of Green Law Offices, LLC, was honored with a 2012 Trial Lawyer Excellence Award for Outstanding Defense Verdict in a dental malpractice case from the Jury Verdict Reporter. The prestigious award was presented at the Law Bulletin’s annual awards ceremony on October 17 at the InterContinental Hotel in Chicago.

Dr. Green was honored for his successful defense of two dentists sued for allegedly failing to diagnose the tongue cancer of a syndicated journalist in 2006 and 2007 which caused her to lose two-thirds of her tongue. As a result of the tongue cancer, the journalist faced a lifetime of speech and swallowing challenges. The plaintiff’s attorney had asked the jury for $18.2 million, but instead the jury returned a ‘not guilty’ verdict. LaDonna Boeckman, an associate at Green Law Offices who was “second chair” at the trial, also received a trial excellence award. According to the Law Bulletin, hundreds of cases that go to trial are reviewed each year by the Jury Verdict Reporter, with only nine cases recognized for outstanding achievement.

As one of the few practicing defense attorneys in the United States who also practices dentistry, John Green is a noted expert in dental malpractice defense litigation.

A Chicago native, Dr. Green received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and is a graduate of the Loyola University School of Dentistry and the DePaul University College of Law and.

He resides with his wife, Mary, and four children, in the Chicago area.
